Coffee in the City
Coffee has been a part of my life since I was three years old, thanks to my grandmother. I’m the only grandchild who still enjoys coffee to this day, and I can’t imagine my life without it.
Here’s a quick history lesson on coffee: Originating in Ethiopia, coffee spread to the Arab world where it became popular in the 15th century. It reached Europe in the 17th century, leading to the establishment of coffeehouses as social and intellectual hubs. European colonial powers later established coffee plantations in tropical regions, making countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Vietnam major producers.
In Memphis, you’ll find some cozy coffee shops where you can relax, study, and treat your taste buds to exquisite coffee blends. Below, you’ll discover a list of my favorite coffee shops to refresh your coffee palate. Enjoy!
