No Free Coffee
The name "No Free Coffee" caught my attention immediately, as it humorously acknowledges the fact that coffee isn't actually free. This coffee shop is proudly black-owned and can be found at 915 Buchanan St, Nashville, TN, conveniently situated next to Slim and Husky's, a black-owned pizza restaurant. As soon as I saw the pink sign, I was intrigued—I mean, who can resist pink and coffee? So, I decided to check it out. Luckily, they have plenty of parking space, so no need to stress about finding street parking. As I entered, I was greeted by two friendly gentlemen with warm smiles, welcoming me inside.
No Free Coffee catches the eye with its appealing aesthetics. From the iconic pink glow sign to the coordinated color scheme of black, brown, pink, and green, every detail adds to its appeal. The glass pink coffee mugs complement the ambiance perfectly, and the subtle background music completes the experience. It's truly a dream spot for anyone who appreciates attention to detail and a cozy atmosphere.
Their spring menu had arrived so it was the perfect time to try something new. I ordered their Flower Power iced latte which had espresso, yuzu, lavender, and tonic water. The yuzu, a citrus fruit, added a tangy twist, while the lavender brought a subtle floral aroma. Mixed with the rich espresso and the bubbly tonic water, it was a refreshing drink that left a lingering, delightful taste. No Free Coffee offers not only delicious beverages but also an inviting atmosphere that makes every visit memorable. Whether you're drawn in by the name, the aesthetics, or the menu, it's a coffee shop worth experiencing firsthand.
