A Year of Faith, Food and Fashion: My Journey So Far

As I sit down to write this post, it’s hard to believe that a year has passed since I launched my blog. What started as a simple idea—a space to share my love for faith, food, and fashion—has grown into something much more meaningful. This journey has been a mix of discovery, growth, and a whole lot of fun, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights with you as I celebrate my one-year blog

Reflecting on the Journey

When I first started blogging, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew I had passions I wanted to share, but I didn’t fully grasp how much this space would become a part of my life. Over the past year, my blog has allowed me to connect with incredible people, explore new places, and dive deeper into the things that truly bring me joy.

Faith: My faith has always been the cornerstone of my life, and sharing it on this platform has been both rewarding and humbling. Whether it’s writing about the scripture that helps me refocus, like Psalm 46:10, or reflecting on how my faith guides my daily life, I’ve found that these posts resonate deeply with my readers. It’s been a blessing to see how sharing my spiritual journey has encouraged others to live boldly in their own faith.

Food: Ah, food—one of life’s greatest pleasures! Over the past year, I’ve had the joy of trying new dishes, discovering hidden gems (like that unforgettable Turkish latte at The Ground A Bout), and even crafting sassy introductions for new spots like Nashoba. Each meal I’ve shared has been a small adventure, and I’ve loved bringing my followers along for the ride. Whether it’s a simple coffee run or a full-blown dining experience, food continues to be a delicious way to explore the world around me.

Fashion: As a graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in Fashion, style is in my DNA. This past year, I’ve enjoyed sharing my love for fashion, from everyday outfits to special looks that reflect my personality and values. Fashion is more than just clothing—it’s a form of self-expression, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to inspire others to embrace their unique style.

Top 5 Lessons I’ve Learned

1. Authenticity is Everything: The posts that have resonated most with my readers are the ones where I’ve been my truest self. Whether it’s sharing a personal story or a genuine recommendation, people connect with authenticity.

2. Balance is Key: Juggling a full-time job and a blog isn’t always easy, but it’s taught me the importance of balance. Knowing when to step back and recharge has been crucial in keeping my content fresh and my passion alive.

3. Stay Inspired: Inspiration can come from anywhere—a new coffee shop, a scripture, a conversation with a friend. Keeping my eyes and heart open to these moments has helped fuel my creativity.

4. Engage with Your Community: The connections I’ve made with readers and fellow bloggers have been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey. Engaging with my community has not only enriched my blog but has also brought me lasting friendships.

5. Growth Takes Time: It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, but real growth—both personally and as a blogger—takes time. I’ve learned to celebrate the small wins and trust the process.

Looking Forward

As I look ahead to the next year, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation. I have so many ideas brewing—from exploring more faith-based topics to diving deeper into the Memphis food scene and, of course, sharing more fashion inspiration. I’m also considering new collaborations and maybe even a peek into my closet (stay tuned!).

Most importantly, I want to continue being a source of inspiration and encouragement for others. My goal is to create content that uplifts, entertains, and inspires you to live boldly and with purpose.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along on this journey so far. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us. Here’s to another year of faith, food, fashion, and everything in between!

With love and gratitude,

Welexi Renee
