Community

Life isn't meant to be navigated alone. As Hebrews 10:25 reminds us “We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming”.

Personally, I tend to do things on my own because I worry asking for help will make me look weak or like I'm not in control. But I'm used to being the one others rely on. However, always depending on myself can make me prideful, which isn't good according to James 4:6. Looking back, I realize this might stem from past disappointments or feeling let down by others, causing me to put up walls to protect myself from getting hurt again. Which can cause isolation. We are not on an island by ourselves. We are on Earth together to help one another; it’s a community. We are accustomed to doing things on our own when, in fact, we have all needed help in one shape, form, or another. God created community before he created creatures (Adam and Eve). Before he created them, he created the earth, nature, the skies, the stars, food, etc. - a community for them to THRIVE in.

What does your community look like ?

Finding the right community for my spiritual, mental, physical, and character growth was a journey, but I've finally discovered it. These women, handpicked by God, hold me accountable, checking in daily and weekly to support my goals. They sense when something is wrong and aren't afraid to intervene. It's a community that uplifts me spiritually when I struggle to pray, and reciprocally, I provide support to them. Within this community, we all feel like we belong, supporting each other through thick and thin, making our connections strong and our journey together fulfilling.

In my Bible Study community, we not only keep each other spiritually accountable but also encourage one another to seek the Lord like never before. Let's deepen our discussions on scripture, foster openness and vulnerability, and pray together for each other's spiritual growth and challenges.

As we journey through life, let's remember that we are not meant to navigate it alone. Embrace community, for in it, we find strength, support, and the beauty of shared experiences. Let's cultivate meaningful connections that enrich our lives and deepen our faith. Together, we can encourage, uplift, and inspire one another to thrive.
